The four seasons (Italian Le quattro stagioni) is probably Antonio Vivaldi’s best-known work. There are four violin concertos with extra-musical programs; each concert portrays a season.
As the title suggests, natural phenomena are mainly imitated – gentle winds, violent storms and thunderstorms are elements that appear in all four concerts.
In Salzburg you can experience the four seasons up close.
A mild spring with yellow spring flowers, a summer like in southern Europe, a colorful autumn with warm winds and again and again a white winter.
What is never missing in Salzburg is the famous “Schnürlregen”, this is also part of Salzburg.
